SUCS room clearance sale!
Hi all!
The SUCS room was long due for a spring clean, so we've put together a list of all the old components we have that we don't want anymore.
Everything in the list below is up for grabs - please see a member of the exec if you'd like to take something (if you can't find anyone, e-mail us at exec@sucs.org and we'll meet you in the room sometime).
We would appreciate a small donation in return for each item - this can be agreed below, or when you collect it.
Please note: we won't be sending anything in the post - everything must be collected from the SUCS room. Also, unless otherwise specified, everything in the list below is untested. Some things may be broken entirely - we aren't responsible for anything not working/anything exploding. You take whatever you take at your own risk.
Everything will be available for 2 weeks, at which point, any leftovers will be disposed of.
So, without further ado, here's the list. Reply to this post if there's anything you'd like (just let us know what you'd like, and how much you're willing to give us for it, even if it's just a pound or two) - first come, first served:

Im looking for an update to my current graphics card and was wondering if any listed here would be good
I hear the Cirrus Logic GD5465 is a very nice card. Well, maybe it is if you're stuck back in 1999. And on a really tight budget

That's the kind of hardware which SUCS loves to receive donations of. The graphics cards in our machines are all rather outdated, even compared to the one you're looking to replace. (if the ones we're actually using are bad, just imagine what the ones we're chucking out must be like... )
If you get a new card and have no need for it, we'd happily take it off your hands
Someone else might be able to recommend you a cheapish card from this millennium.

Re: SUCS room clearance sale!
hey, provided no-one else wants them, I (on behalf of someone who knows a lot more about this kind of thing than I do) would be interested in:
ati rage 128 pro agp tv out
ati mach64pci
any sdram
Hope that's right! I'll just have to remember to arrange to come and get them! ^^
There are also quite a few charities out there that build computers and stuff, and would be keen for donations of components...so if anyone gets bored...?!?

Re: SUCS room clearance sale!
No problem - I'll dig them out for you tomorrow and put them somewhere safe
As for charities - do you know any in particular? I don't know if I've heard of any that collect computer bits, but that might be a good place to send anything we don't get rid of, possibly. That, or Freecycle them!
