SUCS Library
The Computer Society is currently building up a library of books on
various computing topics of interest to its members. The library is being
started from scratch, and any donations of unwanted relevant computing
books are gratefully sought and appreciated.
The books currently available are:
- Data Communications & Computer Networks, Fred Halsall, 3rd edition
(donated by Steve Whitehouse)
- Unix for Dummies, 2nd edition (IDG Books)
- Unix in a Nutshell, 2nd edition (O'Reilly)
- HTML: The Definitive Guide, 2nd edition (O'Reilly)
- Running Linux, 2nd edition (O'Reilly)
- Teach Yourself Javascript in One Week (donated by Brian Fegler)
- C++ for Dummies, 2nd edition (IDG Books)
- CGI Programming on the World Wide Web (O'Reilly: donated by Rhys Jones)
- Web Site Programming with Java 1.0 (McGraw Hill)
Four more books are currently on order: more details when they arrive.
Information for members: Books will be initially borrowable for a
week. You'll need to be a current SUCS member in order to borrow them.
Temporarily, the books can be borrowed from Room 403 Electrical
Engineering - contact Rhys. We hope to relocate to
the SUCS room before long.
